“The PEN Valentine’s 2022 Elevator Pitch Competition” takes place during the “PEN Valentine’s Trading Event 2022” and focuses on diversity. The Elevator Pitch Competition will test trainee presentation skills and creativity and your ability to persuade the jury about your Practice Enterprise’s strategy to diversify and market your enterprise to another region/ country.
Trainees from Practice Enterprises from around the world will make sales pitches to persuade potential customers from other countries to purchase their products and build interest in their enterprise.
When is it?
Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 – from 9:00-12:00 CET
Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 – from 14:00-17:00 CET

What are the prizes?
1st place – 50 000 USD (Practice Enterprise Currency)
2nd place – 30 000 USD (Practice Enterprise Currency)
3rd place – 15 000 USD (Practice Enterprise Currency)
*The results will be announced on Monday February 21, 2022.

Requirements:
- The Sales Pitch must be done in English.
- The time limit of 90 seconds must be kept otherwise points will be deducted.
- All Practice Enterprises must be Members of PEN Worldwide, the Worldwide Practice Enterprise network.
- 1 or 2 trainees maximum may present per Practice Enterprise.
- Cameras must be activated during the entire sales pitch.
- You must write the full name of your Enterprise and your Practice Enterprise Code in the Zoom window.
- You must be ready at the designated time slot, otherwise you will be automatically disqualified.
- You must have a functioning microphone or audio device so the jury can hear you.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Presentation and delivery of your sales pitch:
- Respect for the time allotted
- Verbal and non-verbal communication
- The clarity and persuasiveness of your message
- Marketing and selling skills focusing on:
- Competitive advantage
- Call to action
- Focus on the diverse market - selling to other regions
Sales Pitch Etiquette:
- Mind the Time: Respect the date and time frame of your presentation. Also remember that there are different time zones around the globe.
- Respect Others: In our diverse network we appreciate different opinions & backgrounds and live an inclusive community.
- Appreciate Diversity: Keep in mind that your pitches should be destined for an international audience with diverse cultural backgrounds & differing business cultures.
- Check the Requirements: Make sure to check the rules & requirements well in advance so you are prepared.
- Avoid discriminatory or hurtful words: We are a polite & respectful community in the Worldwide Practice Enterprise Network.
- Make sure you have a proper audio and video setup prior to the sales pitch.
